CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Men's soccer associate head coach John Murphy was named one of the top 12 assistant coaches in the country in 2015 by College Soccer News.
Murphy helped lead Boston College to its second-ever appearance in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championship. BC defeated Vermont and No. 15 USF to advance to the third round where it faced No. 2 Georgetown. The Eagles tied the Hoyas and advanced on penalty kicks before losing at No. 6 Syracuse.
The Eagles finished the season 11-8-2 and went 4-4-0 in the ACC. They were ranked as high as No. 8 in the country by TopDrawerSoccer.com in its final rankings of the 2015 season. BC was also ranked No. 10 by both the NSCAA and College Soccer News.

He is a proven recruiter with an eye for talent as reflected in the classes that he has been associated with over the years. He has also served as an assistant coach at Clemson and Brown and has been a member of the staff of the New England Revolution, the Columbus Crew, and Livingston of the Scottish First Division."
