Dudek Collects First Conference Honor of the Season

The first-year forward's timely goal at 10:30 of the third period sent the Eagles to overtime in Sunday's game three quarterfinal against Vermont; Dudek's tally was the first of his career
WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Freshman JD Dudek earned his first conference award of the season after being named Hockey East Rookie of the Week award on Monday afternoon.
Dudek scored his first-career goal in grand fashion on Sunday night, tallying the equalizer that sent the Eagles to overtime and eventually the semifinal round of the Hockey East Tournament.
The Auburn, N.H., native also registered his second assist of the season, earning him his first-career multi-point performance as an Eagle.
Dudek has skated in 30-of-37 contests for Boston College this season.
The first-year forward joins Co-Players of the Week C.J. Smith (UMass Lowell) and Kevin Roy (Northeastern) along side Co-Defensive Players of the Week Kevin Boyle (UMass Lowell ) & Nick Ellis (Providence).
Boston College makes its return to TD Garden for the 22nd time in the Hockey East semifinals and will take on red-hot Northeastern at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 18. Friday's contest will be broadcast live on both NESN and NBC Sports Network. Since Boston College defeated Northeastern on Dec. 6, the Huskies have put together a remarkable 18-1-2 run.
