Thirouin Wins Twice in 49ers Defeat

Eagles senior captures the lone point on the day
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Boston College men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 match to the host Charlotte 49ers on Thursday afternoon at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.
Senior Alexandre Thirouin gained the Eagles' lone point on the day, winning his singles match on the No. 4 court in three sets, topping Charlotte's Orion Puig Forne, 4-6, 6-4, 10-6. He also teamed with Aiden McNulty to win on the No. 2 double court over the pairing of Sam Brazil and Sam Rice, 6-3.
Jeffrey Melvin also pushed his single match to three sets before ultimately falling, 10-7, in the third.
BC returns to action tomorrow, Friday, March 11, when the travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to face No. 9 Wake Forest at 4 p.m.
