TUESDAY'S HEADLINES
- This is the third time in the last four years that BC and Northeastern will meet for the Beanpot title ... the Huskies claimed the 2013 trophy with a 4-3 win, before BC took the 2014 title with a 3-0 win
- The Beanpot final features the teams with the nation's two longest active winning streaks: BC at 29 games and Northeastern at 14 games
- Tuesday's game features two of the top three offenses in the country: BC is No. 1 (5.31 goals per game) and Northeastern is No. 3 (4.57 goals per game), and the top three scorers in the land ... defensively, the Eagles are tied for No. 3 (1.21 goals allowed per game) and the Huskies are 11th (2.13 goals per game)

FAMILIAR FINAL
The Eagles' attention now shifts to Tuesday's Beanpot championship game at 7:30 p.m. ... BC will face No. 6 Northeastern for the 38th Beanpot at BU's Walter Brown Arena ... it will be the third time in four years that BC and Northeastern face off for the Beanpot title ... in 2013, Northeastern claimed the title with a 4-3 win at Matthew Arena, while the Eagles took the 2014 title with a 3-0 win at Kelley Rink ... the Eagles earned their berth in this year's championship via an 8-0 win over Harvard last Tuesday, while the Huskies topped host BU, 3-2 ... the Eagles are looking for their sixth Beanpot championship in school history.

Tuesday's game features the two hottest teams in women's hockey as the Eagles and Huskies claim the nation's two longest active winning streak ... BC enters the game having won all 29 games it's plays this season, while Northeastern has won its last 14 games - every game since losing 3-of-4 games in late November, including their last loss, a 6-1 defeat to BC at Matthews Arena.

Boston College returns to league action on Friday with a 20-0-0 record in conference play, having already tied the Hockey East record for league wins in a season ... two teams have collected 20 conference wins before: first New Hampshire did it in 2007-08, going 20-0-1, before BC did it last year in 2014-15, also going 20-0-1 .
... OPPORTUNITY TO SET A NEW RECORD
With four more league games on the schedule, Boston College has the opportunity to establish a new Hockey East record for conference wins in a season ... the two teams that previously reached the 20-win mark played 21-game conference seasons ... however, this year - following Merrimack's entry into Hockey East - league members now have 24 conference games on the docket.
DEFENSE SHUTTING DOWN LANES
Boston College's defense has allowed just 588 shots on goal this season, the fifth-best mark nationally and the least in Hockey East (Northeastern is second with 753, 14th nationally) ... the team's 20.28 shots allowed per game is sixth nationally ... BC has held opponents under 20 shots in 15 of 29 games ... in each of the last five games (and seven of the last eight) Eagles' opponents have failed to hit the 20-shot mark ... in fact in the last three games, opponents have failed to generate more than 15 shots.
