HOCKEY EAST QUARTERFINAL SERIES INFO
Boston College, the No. 1 seed in the 2015-16 Hockey East Tournament, will host No. 8 seed Maine in a best-of-three series at Kelley Rink starting Friday, Feb. 26 ... all the games will be free admission ... the Black Bears finished the season in eighth place with a 6-17-1 mark in league play ... they scored 40 goals and allowed 75 in league play ... BC went 24-0-0 in Hockey East, out-scoring opponents 127-27.
QUARTERFINAL HEADLINES
- The Eagles will look to advance to the Hockey East Tournament semifinals for the sixth straight year ... BC has gained a berth in the semifinals each year since 2011 - the program's only tournament title
- Alex Carpenter (38-38-76) is the nation's scoring leader, while Haley Skarupa is third in points (29-37-66) ... the linemates are also rank 1-2 in assists nationally
- Megan Keller is the nation's leading scorer among defenseman with 44 points (12-32-44) ... her 15 power-play assists share the national lead with Carpenter, while her 19 PP points (4-15-19) rank second in the country
- Alex Carpenter is now fifth on the NCAA career scoring list with 266 points
- Andie Anastos enters the weekend with 99 career points ... her next point will be the 100th of her career, making her the 13th player in program history to reach the century m ark

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Boston College enters play in their 11th Hockey East Tournament this weekend ... the Eagles' 11 appearances are tied for third most in league history, behind Providence (14) and New Hampshire (13) ... this is the second year that quarterfinals will be best-of-three series ... from 2003 to 2008, the top four teams advanced to the tournament ... from 2009 to 2012, teams No. 3 through 6 played into the semifinals where the Nos. 1 and 2 seeds were waiting ... in 2013, the field was expanded to eight teams, and the best-of-three series began in 2015.
SEARCHING FOR TITLE NO. 2
Boston College enters the postseason in search of its second Hockey East Tournament title ... the Eagles won their only other HEA tournament championship in 2011 when they defeated fifth-seeded Northeastern 3-1.
TOURNAMENT HISTORY
Boston College is 10-9 all-time in the Hockey East Tournament, advancing to the championship game five times (2006, 2009, 2011, 2014, 2015) and winning once (2011) ... BC is 4-1 in the quarterfinal round, 5-4 in the semifinals and 1-4 in the championship game ... 2010 was the lone season in which the Eagles failed to advance to at least the semifinal round.
HISTORY AS TOP SEED
This is the third-straight year in which Boston College is the No. 1 seed in the Hockey East tournament ... BC has a 5-2 record as the No. 1 seed, falling in the last two championship games to Boston University ... BC is 5-5 as the No. 2 seed (winning its lone title as the second seed in 2011), and 0-1 marks as the No. 4 and No. 6 seeds.
A SECOND PERFECT?
Boston College finished the regular season with a perfect 34-0-0 mark ... the Eagles are just the second team in the NCAA era to reach the postseason with an unblemished record, joining the 2012-13 Minnesota team that went on to win the NCAA Champion-ship with a 41-0-0 mark.
CONFERENCE PERFECTION
The Eagles wrapped up Hockey East conference play with a perfect 24-0-0 mark, becoming the first team in league history - men or women - to play a perfect conference slate ... two women's teams had previously gone undefeated with 20-0-1 marks: UNH in 2007-08 and BC last year in 2014-15 ... on the men's side, the best-ever conference mark was Maine's 22-1-1 record in 1992-93.
THIRD-STRAIGHT REGULAR-SEASON TITLE
With its 3-0 win at Vermont on Feb. 14, the Eagles officially claimed their third straight Hockey East regular-season title outright ... BC won the 2013-14 crown with an 18-2-1 mark and the 2014-15 title with a 20-0-1 record ... this year the Eagles went 24-0-0.
SENIOR CLASS DOMINANCE IN HOCKEY EAST
The Boston College senior class finished play in Hockey East on Saturday as the conference's all-time winningest class ... the Eagles' six seniors finished with 79 league wins and a winning percentage of .931 ... BC's seniors have posted conference records of 17-2-2, 18-2-1, 20-0-1 and 24-0-0 ... prior to this year's senior class, the New Hampshire senior class of 2009 led in both wins (72) and winning percentage (.905).
CARPENTER'S RECORD-SETTING AWARD HAUL IN HEA
Eight different times this season, Alex Carpenter has been tabbed Hockey East's player of the week - the league's record in a single season ... she's also a two-time conference player of the month this year ... in her career, Carpenter has nabbed a conference-record 20 player of the week recognitions, not including her two rookie of the week awards in 2011-12.
NEW CONFERENCE WIN RECORD ESTABLISHED
Boston College established a new Hockey East record for conference wins in a season with 24 ... prior to this season, the record was 20, held by the 2007-08 UNH team and the 2014-15 BC team which both went 20-0-1 in their 21-game seasons ... however, this year - following Merrimack's entry into Hockey East - league members now have 24 conference games on the docket.
BC AGAINST MAINE
- Boston College is 34-15-6 all-time against Maine ... the Eagles have won the last 15 matches against the Black Bears, dating back to the 2011-12 season
- Boston College swept the three-game regular-season this year ... the squads met at BC on Oct. 17 with the Eagles claiming a 4-0 win, before the Eagles claimed 5-0 and 7-2 wins in Orono on Dec. 5-6
- This weekend's series will mark the second time the programs have met in the postseason ... BC topped Maine 2-1 in overtime in the 2013 Hockey East semifinals
- BC is 16-9-2 at home, 16-6-4 vs. the Black Bears on the road and 1-0-0 at neutral sites
- The Eagles have won their last seven home matches vs. Maine

Now that the Eagles have wrapped up a perfect regular-season, attention turns to the next goal: a perfect postseason ... should be BC finish the year the way it's started it, the Eagles would win the program's second Hockey East Tournament title and its first NCAA Championship.
STOPPERS AND SHUTOUTS RECORDS SET THIS YEAR
- This season, Boston College has recorded a program-record 13 shutouts, passing the previous mark of 12 set in 2014-15
- Katie Burt has 12 shutouts in 29 starts, while Gabri Switaj has one in five starts
- Burt's 12 shutouts represent the program's single-season record, which was previously 10 held by Molly Schaus '11 (2008-09) and Burt (2014-15)
- Coincidently, Burt and BC men's hockey goaltender Thatcher Demko (9) both set their respective programs' single-season shutout records on back-to-back nights by posting shutouts in their Beanpot Championship games on Feb. 8 and 9
FLYING INTERNATIONALLY NEXT MONTH
Four current Eagles will represent the United States at the 2015 IIHF World Championships in late March and early April in Kam-loops, British Columbia ... Alex Carpenter, Megan Keller, Haley Skarupa and Dana Trivigno were named to the team by head coach Ken Klee on Wednesday ... all four players were members of the gold-medal winning squad at the 2015 IIHF World Championships ... additionally, alumnae Emily Pfalzer '15 and Kelli Stack '11 were also named to the squad.
CAREER APPEARENCES MARK IN JEOPARDY
The Boston College career appearances mark - held by Emily Field '15 and Kate Leary '15 - is in jeopardy this season ... Field and Leary each played in a program-record 149 games in their four seasons at The Heights ... Lexi Bender is currently tied for third with 147 career appearances, while Meghan Grieves is tied for seventh with 145 ... the Eagles have at a minimum two games left this season and as many as seven.
BURT ON PACT TO SET ANOTHER RECORD
Katie Burt is also poised to set a new school's single-season win record ... she enters the weekend with 29 wins this season, one back of her own program record of 30, which she set as a freshman in 2014-15 ... on the season, she is a perfect 29-0-0 ... last year, she went 30-3-2 on the season.
KENT GAINING NATIONAL NOTICE ON LAX FIELD
Kenzie Kent may be the left wing on the top line of the No. 1 hockey team in the country, but she's also gaining individual attention on the lacrosse field ... Kent was among the 50 women named to the 2016 Tewaaraton Award Watch List ... the Tewaaraton Award is presented annually to the top men's and women's lacrosse players in the country ... she was one of three Eagles on the list, including senior Sarah Mannelly, who was a Top 5 finalist in 2015.
