Melvin & Mukai Take Doubles Point in Brown Defeat

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Eagles' No. 3 doubles tandem of Jeffrey Melvin and Kent Mukai staved off match point and turned around to claim their doubles match 7-6, helping the Boston College men's tennis team earn the doubles point against Brown on Monday afternoon in a 6-1 loss to the Bears at the Pizzitola Sports Center.

Aiden McNulty and Alexandre Thirouin won in the No. 2 doubles spot with a 6-4 win over the Brown pairing of Jack Haworth and Aaron Sanberg to give the Eagles the edge in the doubles point before Melvin and Mukai secured it. McNulty and Thirouin have won their last five matches, and now stand at 5-1 on the season.

Brown swept the six singles matches, as both Thirouin and Mukai pushed their opponents to three sets.
