Brown Tops Eagles After Doubles Sweep

The Bears claim the non-conference 5-2 win on Tuesday
PROVIDENCE, Mass. - The No. 49 Boston College women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to No. 61 Brown on Tuesday afternoon at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
Brown swept the doubles point, winning two matches on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts.Â
In singles, Katya Vasilyev and Emily Safron took two points for BC with wins at No. 3 and No. 5 spots. Vasilyev claimed a three-set win on the third court. After dropping the first set 6-3, Vasilyev won the second and third sets 6-4 and 6-2 to take the win.Â
At No. 5 singles, Emily Safron won a tie-break in the third set after splitting the first two frames.Â
The Eagles return to action on Saturday, Feb 20, when they travel to No. 65Â Syracuse in a return to ACC play.Â
