- Boston College (13-10, 1-9 ACC) is in the midst of a five-game skid. In the five games, BC has lost to UNC (86-78 on Sunday), No. 16/20 Miami by six points, Georgia Tech by six points, RV/RV Syracuse by one point and Wake Forest by six points.
- The Eagles lost to UNC, 86-78, despite 26 points from Nicole Boudreau and 17 points and 10 rebounds from Kelly Hughes. BC ran into a hot team as UNC shot 53 percent for the game but 66.7 percent in the second half.
- NC State (16-8, 7-4) is currently on a two-game skid with losses at Notre Dame and at Wake Forest. The Wolfpack are led by Dominique Anderson with 15.9 points per game average and 4.0 rebounds per game average. Miah Spencer averages 13.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and leads the Wolfpack with 118 assists.

- Rookie Mariella Fasoula is second in the ACC and 25th in the country in field goal percentage (55.6). She is second on the team and the highest scoring rookie in the ACC (13.8 ppg.). Fasoula earned Eagle of the Week honors twice this season. She has notched double-figures in 17 games this season, including nine of the 10 ACC games this season.
- Junior guard Kelly Hughes leads BC in scoring (14 ppg.) and rebounding (5.9 rpg.). She is also second in the ACC and eight in the nation in three-point field goals made (69). Hughes is also fourth in the conference and 42nd in the nation in three-point field goal percentage (40.4%).
- The Eagles are 34th in the nation and fourth in the conference in field goal percentage (44.2%). The team is also 22nd in the nation and second third in the ACC in total assists (388), while BC is 20th in the nation and second in the ACC in assists per game (16.9).

- This will be the 19th game between BC and NC State. The Wolfpack lead the overall series, 10-8. The Eagles are 2-7 on the road against NC State.
- Last season, BC defeated NC State, 64-59 in overtime at Conte Forum. BC led, 31-20 at the half. BC blew a, 52-42, lead with six minutes left. A game-tying three by NC State sent the game into overtime. Kelly Hughes, who finished with 16 points, led BC in overtime with four of the nine points to win the game.

- On Feb. 11, 2007, Boston College defeated Miami, 78-65, behind 23 points from senior guard Kindyll Dorsey and 21 points and 16 rebounds from senior forward Kathrin Ress. Senior point guard Sarah Marshall added 14 points, five rebounds and six assists. The Eagles pulled away late in the half when Dorsey hit a three with 6:36 to play for a 62-53 lead. Dorsey's seventh three of the game came with 4:36 and the lead grew to 68-55. The Eagles hit 20-of-24 free throws with Ress leading the way going 9-for-12.
