Fasoula's Double-Double Leads Eagles Past Yale, 71-64

BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Mariella Fasoula shot 10-for-15 from the floor and finished with her first career double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds.
- Rookie Georgia Pineau chipped in with 10 points, seven rebounds and six assists, while senior Kelly Hughes had 13 points.
- Senior Kailey Edwards had nine points and four assists.
- BC had 19 assists on 28 field goals.
- The Eagles shot 59.6 percent from the floor, a season-high.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Boston College took a 7-2 lead behind two quick hoops from rookie Emma Guy. Yale hit two consecutive three's to cut into the lead. A 6-0 Eagles run at the end of the quarter led to a, 21-17, lead after one quarter.
- Mariella Fasoula opened the second quarter with four straight points and BC's lead grew to 25-17. A three by Kailey Edwards pushed the lead to 28-19. With 3:29 to play, Katie Quandt hit a layup off a nice feed from Georgia Pineau and BC's lead was 11 points. The Eagles outscored Yale, 13-4, in the quarter to take a 34-21 halftime lead.
- Kelly Hughes hit a three-pointer with 7:54 to play and BC held a, 39-25, lead in the third. The Eagles held a comfortable lead throughout the quarter until sloppy play resulted in a 10-2 run by the Bulldogs. BC's lead was 51-43 going into the final quarter.
- Yale opened with five consecutive points and the Eagles lead was just three points. Pineau's inside move stopped a 13-0 Yale run that started at the end of the third quarter.
- A Hughes layup at 7:15 sparked a 6-0 Eagles run and the lead was nine points. Yale chipped away and a three by Yale's Meghan McIntyre cut -the Eagles lead to six points BC responded with an inside play to Fasoula and the lead was 61-53.
- Yale continued to hit key three-pointers to stay within reach but the Eagles held on behind key free throws, a defensive play by Pineau and a couple of defensive rebounds from Fasoula.
