Pineau Leads Eagles with 16 points in Win over Maine

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Boston College took a 10-0 lead in the first three minutes of the game behind six points from Georgia Pineau. Maine capitalized on the Eagles mistakes as they committed four straight turnovers and the Black Bears but the lead to two points with eight straight points. Mariella Fasoula stopped the Maine run to give BC a 12-10 lead after one quarter.
- The Eagles pushed the lead to eight points in the first three minutes of the second quarter behind an old fashion three-point play by Fasoula and a long three by Martina Mosetti. The Eagles went on an 11-0 run to take a 31-18 lead and finished the quarter with two three's by Kelly Hughes to take a 40-23 lead at the half.
- BC shot 59.3 percent from the floor in the first half and 76.9 percent in the second quarter alone. The Eagles scored 28 points in the second quarter, the most for the Eagles in a single quarter this season.
- Pineau continued to lead the Eagles in the third quarter. The rookie forward scored five of the Eagles 11 points in an 11-5 run to give BC a 51-28 lead. The Eagles held a 58-32 lead after three quarters.
- Taylor Ortlepp hit a three to start the final quarter it was the second of her career. With a large lead, Boston College had a chance to get rookies Jasmine Taylor and Shannon Ryan, sophomore Stephanie Jones and redshirt sophomore Rachel Gartner.
