Pair honored for performances last week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Senior Erika Reineke and freshman Scott Rasmussen have been named Eagles of the Week for winning their respective National Singlehanded Sailing Championships last weekend.

Reineke became the first BC sailor to win four singlehanded titles. She finished with 31 points last weekend, 39 less than her closest competitors. In the 14 races in the event, Reineke placed first in eight of them. She also had two second-place finishes and two third-place finishes.

Rasmussen earned his first National Singlehanded Championship by posting 81 points, three less than the second-place finisher. The rookie won three times including the final race of the event. Rasmussen won races 10 and 11 and then finished in 17^th place in race 12. After a fourth-place finish in race 13, he capped the day off with another win to clinch the title.
