GOAL DESCRIPTIONS
FIRST GOAL - FIRST PERIOD – Ron Greco – 13:10 – EVEN STRENGTH
• Boston College took advantage of a draw to left of Maine goaltender Rob McGovern on a beautiful tip from Ron Greco at 13:10 of the first period. Greco won the draw and JD Dudek scooted the puck up to Connor Moore for the big blast within the blue line. Greco spun around and positioned himself just within the right circle and redirected Moore's blast for the 1-0 Boston College lead.
SECOND GOAL - SECOND PERIOD – Scott Savage – 10:47 – EVEN STRENGTH
• The Eagles capitalized in transition midway through the second period after Christopher Brown chipped the puck off the glass out of BC's end to Austin Cangelosi in motion. Cangelosi corralled the puck, zoomed down the left size of the sheet into Maine's zone and let the Eagles take formation. Scott Savage carved in from atop the zone, accepted Cangelosi's dish and zipped it past McGovern with the wrist shot from the slot to pad the Eagles' lead, 2-0.
THIRD GOAL - SECOND PERIOD – Ryan Smith – 18:24 – POWER PLAY
• Maine scored with just five seconds left on a Ryan Fitzgerald infraction late in the second to make it a one-goal game once again heading into the second intermission. As Maine's power play window was winding down, Cam Brown wheeled around Boston College's next and took a chance on Joe Woll. The puck bounced off Woll into the slot where Ryan Smith roofed the rebound at 18:24 to make it a 2-1 contest.
FOURTH GOAL - THIRD PERIOD – Mike Booth – 9:01 – EVEN STRENGTH
• The Black Bears were outshooting Boston College, 7-0, in the third period before Mike Booth's one-timer at 9:01 of the third quieted the Alfond Arena faithful. Casey Fitzgerald kept the puck in the zone and McPhee gave chase to the puck down the far side. Maine's defense gave chase and left Booth wide open on the left circle. McPhee managed to get the pass off through the zone and Booth ripped the one-timer into the open net to make it a 3-1 BC lead.
FIFTH GOAL - THIRD PERIOD – Dane Gibson – 10:18 – EVEN STRENGTH
• The Black Bears restored the home crowd's voice by negating Booth's strike a minute and seventeen seconds later. Blaine Byron managed to wriggle the puck loose from Boston College in Maine's end and he sent it up the boards to Dane Gibson. Gibson gathered it in the neutral zone with decent speed, crossed BC's blue line and snapped it past Woll atop the left circle to make it a 3-2 affair.
