November 29, 2016 | Lacrosse
CHESNUT HILL, Mass. – After earning a spot in the 2016 NCAA Tournament, head coach Acacia Walker announced the 2017 Boston College lacrosse schedule on Tuesday, Nov. 29. See Full Schedule.
The Eagles will open on the road and play seven of their first nine games away from home to start the season. On top of a tough ACC schedule, nine of their 17 opponents finished 2016 ranked 25th or better in the NCAA RPI rankings, including the top three teams in the country.
The season will kick off with a three-game road trip, with the Eagles traveling to Holy Cross on Saturday, Feb. 4 before getting their first taste of ACC action on the road against third-ranked Syracuse the following Saturday, Feb 11.
On Wednesday, Feb. 15, Boston College will welcome its first opponent to Newton Campus as the team hosts Boston University before heading on the road to Virginia Tech for its second conference game of the season on Saturday, Feb. 18.
Boston College will continue its season, with a five-game slate of non-conference games, including last year's no. 1 ranked team, Maryland, whose only loss came in the national championship game to North Carolina.
The Eagles will return to ACC action on Saturday, March 18 when they host Louisville before heading to Chapel Hill, N.C. to take on last year's national champions UNC.
Boston College will wrap up the regular season playing four of its five games at home, including games against ACC opponents Virginia, Duke and Notre Dame in April.
The Eagles return 20 players from last year's NCAA Tournament roster, and welcome six freshmen.
