SERIES HISTORY
- The Cardinals hold a 5-3 series lead over Boston College.
- This will be the ninth meeting between Boston College and Louisville and the third as Atlantic Coast Conference opponents.
- The two teams met for the first time as ACC foes in the 2014 season.
- In the four games held in Chestnut Hill, the series is split at 2-2 with the last game going in favor of Louisville 38-19.
- The series started in 1986 with a 41-7 Eagles' win in Chestnut Hill.
SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
- The Cardinals offense has been unstoppable this year, ranking as the best scoring offense in the nation. Louisville has won its seven games by an average of 32 points.
- The only loss for Louisville this season was a 42-36 setback at No. 2 Clemson.
- At the center of the offense, look no further than sophomore quarterback Lamar Jackson. Jackson is a Heisman Trophy candidate and has totaled 38 touchdowns this season (22 pass, 16 rush). In eight games played, Jackson has accumulated 2,522 passing yards and also leads the team in rushing with 996 yards.
- Louisville's featured running back is Brandon Radcliff. Radcliff has averaged 7.1 yards per rush this season and has found the end zone three times.
- Look for the ball to also be spread out on Saturday as Jackson has connected with 10 different receivers for touchdowns in 2016.
THE EAGLES BREAKDOWN
- Coming off their first ACC win since 2014, the Eagles will look to ride that momentum into Saturday.
- Graduate quarterback Patrick Towles and Kentucky native will once again face off against Louisville for the third time in his career. Last week Towles guided the Eagles to their fourth win of the season as he finished the game setting BC career-highs in passing attempts and completions.
- Redshirt sophomore running back Jon Hilliman returned from injury last week and rushed for 74 yards on 20 carries.
- Last Saturday, sophomore tight end Tommy Sweeney recorded a career-high 78 receiving yards on a career-high five catches. He also recorded his first career touchdown reception in the fourth quarter - a 14-yard catch from redshirt freshman running back Davon Jones - to help BC seal the win. He also now sits third in receptions on the team.
- Sophomore wide receiver Jeff Smith still leads the Eagles in receiving but has proved he is still a solid rush option as he turned a jet sweep into a 60-yard touchdown run last week.
- Junior DE Harold Landry continues to be a disruptive force as he tops the nation in sacks with nine and also leads the Eagles in total tackles for a loss with 11.
