Fans: Stay Alert to Road Closures Day of BC-Louisville Game

Sections of Rt. 128/95 will closed on Saturday, Nov. 5
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Fans coming to the Boston College football game against Louisville on Saturday, Nov. 5 (noon kickoff) should plan for extra time to get to Alumni Stadium if they are traveling on Route 128/Interstate 95. Parts of the highway will be closed for the demolition of the Highland Avenue Bridge and cars will be detoured onto local roads.

From MassDOT:
Highland Avenue over I-95 will be detoured to allow the demolition of the existing Highland Avenue Bridge. I-95 under the existing Highland Avenue Bridge will also be closed to ensure public safety during the demolition period. Demolition operations will first occur on the east side of the bridge (over I-95 Northbound), from 8 p.m. on Friday to 3 p.m. on Saturday, followed by the west side of the bridge (over I-95 Southbound), from 6 p.m. on Saturday to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Between the hours of 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, project team members will transition from the detour of the I-95 Northbound mainline to the I-95 Southbound mainline. At present it is anticipated that there will be a period of time during this transition during which both North and Southbound mainlines are detoured.
