HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
The match started out even until the Seminoles pulled ahead, 9-6, after two errors by the Eagles.
Florida State maintained its lead until BC strung together three straight points to tie it at 18. However, the Seminoles took six of the last seven points to win the set 25-20.
Set 2
Florida State used their momentum from the end of the previous set, winning six of the first eight points to go ahead 6-2 and to force a BC timeout. The Eagles rallied three times in the set for ties at seven, eleven, and twelve all, but the Seminoles pulled ahead for good after a four-point run to lead 16-12, going on to win 25-17.
Set 3
Another strong start for the Seminoles saw them use a five-point run to lead 6-2. The Eagles got within one at 8-7, but Florida State used two more runs, one of 5-1 and another of 8-0, to extend their lead and go on to take the set 25-15.
UP NEXT
The Eagles will come back home for a Thursday match in Power Gym against the Louisville Cardinals (7:30 p.m.) before taking on Notre Dame on Sunday (noon).
