HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
The Eagles built up a lead of 14-10 following a Jane DeJarld ace, but the Tigers rallied to tie the match at 16. BC took the next two points with kills from Julia Topor and Jill Strockis to retake the lead 18-16, and forced a Clemson timeout after using three straight points to lead 21-17. From there, the teams exchanged points, which was enough for the Maroon and Gold to take the set 25-19.
Set 2
Starting out strong, the Eagles took a 6-2 lead early. The Maroon and Gold extended their lead to 12-7 with another impressive 6-2 run. The Tigers threatened, though, and retook the lead at 14-13, forcing a BC timeout. The remainder of the set was neck-and-neck, and the Eagles fended off four set points, on their way to a 29-27 win, following two straight kills by sophomore McKenna Goss.
Set 3
BC took an early lead again, winning four straight points on Clemson attack errors to lead 4-1. However, the Tigers fought back with a 5-0 run that gave them the lead 13-10. The Eagles got within one at 14-13, but never reclaimed the lead again, as Clemson took the last four points to win 25-19, grabbing one set back.
Set 4
Clemson drew the first major separation after breaking a 10-10 tie by winning three straight points to lead 13-10, forcing a BC timeout. The Tigers extended their lead to 18-13, but BC got back within two. The Maroon and Gold were not able to string together a run and dropped the set 25-23.
Set 5
The Tigers used their momentum from tying the match at two sets all to jump ahead 6-2 in the decider following a series of errors by the Eagles. Following a timeout called by head coach Chris Campbell, the Eagles took back four points, getting within one at 10-9. Then, the Maroon and Gold took the lead at 12-11 after a West kill and a Clemson attack error, forcing the Tigers to call timeout of its own. The Tigers won four of the last five points to win 15-13.

The Eagles will be back on the road next weekend, with trips to North Carolina (Friday, 6 p.m.) and NC State (Sunday 2 p.m.)
