CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - In the latest Boston College Athletics news, several former BC Eagles garnered attention in the media this week.
It was announced earlier this week that the men's hockey team would be adding two players to their roster ahead of this weekend's home-and-home tilt with defending national champion Providence. As the NHL prepares for its mid-season All-Star Game, held Jan. 31 in Nashville, Tenn., a familiar face will be on the ice as former BC goaltender Cory Schneider was named to the event.

Former Boston College men's lacrosse player Welles Remy Crowther, who died during the September 11, 2001 attacks, was recently inducted into his high school Athletic Hall of Fame. Jamie Kempton of the Rockland Times (NY) had the story.
And the Women's Lacrosse program, who advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament last season, was ranked eighth in the Nike/ Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Poll.
