Carpenter Picks Up Second-Straight Monthly Honor

Eagles’ forward named conference’s top player for December
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College senior forward Alex Carpenter earned Hockey East's Warrior Player of the Month award for December, marking the second-straight month which she took the league's top award.
In three games in December, the North Reading, Mass., product posted 10 points to share the national scoring lead for the month. Carpenter led the nation with six goals, including a four-goal effort at Syracuse on Dec. 10 that not only included her fourth hat trick of the season, but also lifted her into first place on the BC career goals chart (117). She also broke the Hockey East career scoring record (conference games only) at Maine on Dec. 5, collecting her 134th point to pass Kelli Stack '11 (133 points).
On the season, Carpenter leads the nation with 49 points from 27 goals (also the nation's top total) and 22 assists. She leads the nation in game-winning goals (7), is second in both power-play goals (7) and tied for third in shorthanded goals (2). This is her sixth player of the month nod in her career, and her 10th monthly honor in her career.
The top-ranked Eagles (20-0-0, 13-0-0 HEA) return to action this weekend when they head down Commonwealth Ave., to face rival Boston University at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9.
