CHESTNUT HILL, Mass - With an array of Boston College hockey games on tap this weekend at Conte Forum, beginning tonight with the Women's team taking on Vermont at 7 p.m. before a double-header featuring the women's tomorrow afternoon and the men tomorrow evening, it is only fitting that several of the stories involving the Eagles revolve around the ice.
The men's ice hockey program, who are in Amherst tonight to take on the University of Massachusetts, are featured as Jerry York nears a collegiate milestone. The head coach was also featured earlier this week in a feature shown on Fox 25 in Boston. Former Eagle Johnny Gaudreau chipped in with a few words of praise for his former coach as he seeks his 1,000th career win behind the bench.
Additionally, Thatcher Demko, Ryan Fitzgerald and Colin White were each selected as Hobey Baker nominees and fans can VOTE to get these Eagles to the next round. Â
Although we still have plenty of time until the football season starts up at Alumni in the fall, some former Eagles are members of teams that remain in the NFL Playoffs.
Two former linebackers, Kevin Pierre-Louis and Luke Kuechly, squared off against each other this past Sunday in the NFC Divisional Round playoff game. See what Pierre-Louis had to say about his former teammate prior to the game last weekend and his journey in football as a whole.Â
While Kuechly's team advanced and look to move on to the Super Bowl with a win this weekend, USA Today explains how much of the success seen by the Carolina defense has been the result of the former Eagle.   Â
