Eagles Earn No. 2 Preseason Ranking from USA Hockey

Eagles will start the season ranked second behind defending national champion Minnesota
USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Already having picked up the No. 2 preseason ranking from USCHO last week, the Boston College women's hockey team solidified their spot as one of the nation's top teams when the season officially kicks off this weekend after the Eagles were selected as the No. 2 team in the preseason USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll, released today.
The Eagles picked up 162 points to finished second behind defending national champion Minnesota, who claimed all 19 first-place votes for 190 points.
Mirroring the USCHO poll, Wisconsin (155 points), Harvard (134) and Clarkson (111) round out the top five in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.
North Dakota (80), Quinnipiac (78), Boston University (64) and Bemidji State and Northeastern (23 apiece) and complete the top 10.
Boston College officially opens the 2015-16 season Friday when the team hosts Minnesota Duluth in the first of two games at Conte Forum. Friday's faceoff is set for 7 p.m., and the teams will wrap up the two-game set on Saturday at 3 p.m. Admission is free.
