Eagles Begin ACC Play with Four Game Road Trip

Syracuse and a Georgia Tech game on ESPN 3 highlight weekend play
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass- Boston College travels to Syracuse, N.Y. and Atlanta, Ga. this weekend as the Eagles begin their Atlantic Coast Conference Schedule. This will be their first two of four straight road games in conference play.
The Eagles will take on the Orange on Friday evening in the Women's Building on the Syracuse campus at 7 p.m. before heading south for a Sunday matchup with Georgia Tech in the O'Keefe Gym on the school's flagship Atlanta campus. The game begins at 1 p.m. and will broadcasted live on ESPN3.

The Eagles and Orange face off for their annual bout as both teams play their first ACC game of the season. Entering the matchup, 'Cuse boasts a 9-2 overall record and have won their last four games against the likes of LIU Brooklyn, New Hampshire, Navy and Buffalo, respectively.
The Eagles are 6-14 all-time against Syracuse, but won both games against them last season by scores of 3-0 and 3-1. Syracuse is led by Silvi Uattara (132 kills) and Nicolette Serratore, whose 0.41 service aces is a team best and third amongst all ACC players.

For Sunday's game with Georgia Tech, BC looks to snap a 14-game losing streak against the Yellow Jackets. In last season's only game with Georgia Tech, the Eagles took two of the first three sets before falling in five. Katty Workman led both teams with 17 kills. This season, the Yellow Jackets are led by Teegan Van Gunst, who had accumulated 167 kills in 12 matches. On defense, London Ackermann 4.44 digs per set is fifth in the ACC. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.

They swept the New England Challenge Invitational, defeating Northeastern and Connecticut 3-0 before topping Harvard 3-2. Prior to last weekend's play, the Eagles defeated host New Hampshire in the Holly Young Invitational finale.
Katty Workman, Sol Calvete and Julia Topor are the team's top three leaders in kills with 168, 121 and 107, respectively. On defense, Madisen Lydon (176) and Sol Calvete (125) lead the Eagles in digs. Workman's 4.20 kills per set is second best in the conference while Mallori Moffat's 9.02 assists per set are fifth best in the ACC.
With her 48 kills last weekend, Katty Workman is now only 24 kills away from surpassing Kelsey Johnson's Boston College record of 1449 career kills.
Mallori Moffat currently sits in sixth place all-time at Boston College with her .364 assist percentage (min. 750 assists).
