Carpenter, Trivigno, Anastos Named Women’s Hockey Captains

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Three Eagles will serve as captains of the 2015-16 women’s hockey program, and two more seniors will serve as alternate captains this year.
Head coach Katie Crowley has tabbed seniors Alex Carpenter and Dana Trivigno and junior Andie Anastos as the team’s three captains, while seniors Lexi Bender and Haley Skarupa will serve as alternate captains this year.
“We have a team of leaders so it’s fitting that we have a large leadership group this year,” Crowley said. “I’m looking forward to seeing this group anchor the team throughout the season. We have high expectations and these five women will be great team leaders and ambassadors.”
Carpenter was the Eagles’ alternate captain in 2014-15, and has served as the alternate captain of the U.S. Women’s National Team and captained the U.S. Under-22 team the last two years.
Trivigno and Skarupa are also members of the U.S. National Team, while Anastos and Bender have long histories with USA Hockey including participation at the Women's National Team Festivals, U18 and U22 teams.
The Eagles’ schedule will be announced in the coming weeks and the team will formally open the 2015-16 season in early October.
