Chestnut Hill, Mass. -
The Boston College women's basketball team released its 2015-16 schedule season coinciding with the ACC release of the full conference schedule this afternoon. The Eagles will play 15 home games at Silvio O. Conte Forum, two games at a neutral site and 12 road games. Nine teams on the schedule earned an NCAA Tournament berth last season.
All BC home games will be streamed live on the BCEagles.com. The Eagles also have two games broadcast locally on a regional sports network and one on ESPN3.
""We love the challenges this schedule presents our emerging team, and our players are excited to compete with the best our game has to offer,'' said BC head coach Erik Johnson. "Our non-conference schedule will prepare us well for ACC play by matching us up with Oklahoma and Utah in the Bahamas, at Purdue in the ACC-Big10 Challenge, as well as continuing our tradition of playing some of the strongest programs in our region. After being the top conference in the nation last season (with eight teams making the NCAA tournament), the ACC looks even stronger this season as our conference schedule is filled with several Top 10 teams and several more in the Top 25. ''
Boston College will host eight ACC teams including six teams which earned an NCAA berth last season - Notre Dame, Syracuse, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Miami and North Carolina.
The non-conference schedule for BC has Maine, Holy Cross, Hartford, UNH, UMass-Lowell, Bryant and Yale visiting Conte Forum, while the Eagles will travel to Providence, Boston University and Northeastern.
BC will enjoy a short trip to Freeport, Bahamas to play in the Junkanoo Jam. The first game BC will play Utah on Nov. 27. It will be the second meeting between the two teams. The first took place in the 2006 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16, which Utah won, 57-54. On Nov. 28, Boston College will play Oklahoma for the first time in program history. Upon returning to Boston, the team will play at Purdue in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge on Dec. 3.
Conference action will begin right after the New Year. Boston College will open up on the road - at Virginia Tech on Jan. 3 and at Florida State on Jan. 7. The FSU game will be on ESPN3.
In the final non-conference game of the season, BC will host Yale (Jan. 10) followed by national ranked Notre Dame coming to town on Jan. 14. No rest for the wary as the Eagles will play another ranked program Duke on Jan. 17. Two home games follow as the Eagles host Pittsburgh (Jan. 21) and Wake Forest (Jan. 24).
The final two games of the month have BC at Syracuse (Jan. 27) followed by a road trip to Georgia Tech (Jan. 31). Fans will be able to watch the BC- Georgia Tech game which will be on the regional sports network.
The final month of regular season action, Boston College will host two teams that reached the NCAA Tournament last year - Miami (Feb. 4) and North Carolina (Feb. 7). The Eagles will then hit the road to play at NC State (February 11). BC will host Virginia on February 14, which will also be broadcast on the regional sports network.
BC will play at Clemson on Feb. 18 and return for two straight home games. The Eagles will host national ranked Louisville on Feb. 21 and former Big East rival Syracuse on Feb. 25. The regular season will end with the Eagles on the road at Notre Dame on Feb. 27.
