Eagles' Newsstand: August 11
August 11, 2015 | Football
Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College football team opened the 2015 season with the first day of preseason camp on Monday on Shea Field. The Eagles look to improve on back-to-back, seven-win seasons and two bowl trips under third-year head coach Steve Addazio.
As noted leading up the season, BC is rebuilding the offensive line after all five starters graduated from the 2014 season. The process is a high priority before the Eagles kick off against Maine on Sept. 5. Addazio and offensive line coach Justin Frye are excited and grateful to senior guard Harris Williams' experience and leadership after he missed all of last season with an ankle injury.
While there is a lot of work to be done and Addazio notes it is the greatest changeover in his coaching career, he is optimist about the 2015 Eagles. Sophomore quarterback Darius Wade, who had the starting job after spring practice, is working hard to keep that position.
On the professional front, former Eagle Shakim Phillips made a one-handed grab in the Hall of Fame preseason game on Sunday night that made SportsCenter's Top 10 List. He is hoping to make the Steelers' roster as an undrafted free agent.
