McManus to Join Varsity Club Hall of Fame

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Eight former outstanding athletes will be inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Hall of Fame this fall, including former women's ice hockey captain Kelly McManus Souza `02
The athletes being honored are: Doug Brzezinski `98 (football), Chris Georgules `95 (track and field), Mary Guarino `00 (women's soccer), Paul Keegan `96 (men's soccer), Mike Mottau `00 (men's ice hockey), Alissa Murphy Richardson `00 (women's basketball), McManus Souza and Damien Woody `99 (football).
The honorees will be inducted in a ceremony on Friday, Oct. 9 at Conte Forum. They will also be recognized at halftime of the Eagles' football game against Wake Forest on Saturday, Oct. 10.
Kelly McManus Souza '02 (Women's Ice Hockey):
A native of Dedham, Mass., Kelly McManus Souza played just two seasons at the Heights but made an indelible impression. After two seasons at UNH, McManus Souza brought her talents to BC and she led the team in scoring as a junior and senior. She notched 13 goals and nine assists as a junior. In her senior season, McManus Souza notched 17 goals and 17 assists for 34 points. She earned ECAC All-Star honors in 2001 and 2002. A team captain in 2002, McManus Souza also earned the BC Team Leadership Award and the Outstanding Senior Award.
