Women's Hockey Places 14 on All-Academic Team

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Fourteen members of the Boston College women's hockey team earned a place on the Hockey East All-Academic Team for the 2014-15 season, which was announced Wednesday by the conference.
Additionally, rising junior Lauren Wedell earned a place on the Hockey East All-Academic All-Star Team, which recognizes the conference players with the highest overall GPAs. An economics major in the Carroll School of Management, Wedell posted a 3.94 GPA to earn a place on the seven-player team. This is the second-straight year Wedell earned a place on the academic all-star team.
A record 104 student-athletes earned a spot on the All-Academic Team, which is composed of players posting a 3.0 or better grade point average during the two academic periods she was competing.
The Eagles who earned all-academic honors include: junior Lexi Bender, junior Taylor Blake, freshman Katie Burt, graduate Danielle Doherty, senior Emily Field, junior Meghan Grieves, senior Erin Kickham, sophomore Haley McLean, senior Emily Pfalzer, junior Haley Skarupa, freshman Tori Sullivan, freshman Gabriella Switaj, junior Dana Trivigno and Wedell.
Kickham earned Distinguished Scholar accolades for earning All-Academic Team honors each of her four seasons of competition. Bender, Blake, Doherty and Pfalzer are all three-time honorees, while Grieves and Wedell are two-time performers.
