Sailing Placed Third In Coed National Championship

The Boston College coed sailing team finished third at the Gill College Coed Sailing National Championships on Thursday at Narragansett Bay in Newport, Rhode Island. The Eagles finished with 265 points, while Coast Guard was second with 255 points. Yale won the championship with 186 points.
BC had a strong final day on the water and made a huge push going from ninth place to third.
The Eagles A Division team of junior Raul Rios and sophomore Allison Ferraris placed sixth with 134 points. The team had five first place finishes in the 16 race day. Rios and Ferraris had six first place finishes, three in the final five races. Yale won the A Division with 104 points, followed by College of Charleston with 110.
The B Division team of senior William Bailey and senior Katherine Wysocki placed second with 131 points. Bailey and Wysocki's placed in the top four in six of the last seven races. Yale won the B Division with 82 points, while US Coast Guard was second with 145 points
Boston College finished the two weeks of racing with a second place in the women's and team championships and a third in today's final competition of the regatta in Newport.
