June 30, 2015 | Women's Track & Field
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.-- Three Boston College women’s track athletes - senior Liv Westphal, senior Danielle Winslow and freshman Isabelle Kennedy - were named to the All-ACC Academic Team for the 2015 outdoor season.
Westphal completed the conference's academic trifecta in doing so, having already garnered this honor in both the cross-country and indoor track seasons, as well. Westphal’s historic season came to an end at the NCAA Championships in Oregon only two weeks ago, where she finished eighth in the 5,000 meters and earned the title of All-American. Liv is Communications major in the Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences.
Winslow also had a very inspiring season, culminating at the NCAA Eastern Regionals. Winslow had qualified for the 3,000-meter steeplechase and 5,000 meters. She finished 28th overall in the steeplechase, her best ever finish at the Regionals. Danielle is a Chemistry major in the Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences.
Kennedy also reached the Eastern Regionals in the 5,000 meters, finishing 34th overall. With her performance this season, the future looks very bright for this young Eagle. Isabelle is a Secondary Education and English double-major in the Lynch School of Education.
Every member the 2015 All-ACC Academic Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Team earned All-Conference honors or placed among the top eight in their respective event, earned athletic or academic All-America honors, was named an ACC Performer of the Week on at least one occasion and/or qualified for the finals of the NCAA Championships held earlier this month at Eugene, Oregon.
