Men's Hockey Incoming Class: Meet Chris Shero
June 01, 2015 | Men's Hockey
Newcomer Chris Shero joins incoming classmates Chris Brown and Joey Dudek on the forward lines and Josh Couturier on the blue line as the fourth member of the 2015-16 recruiting class under head coach Jerry York.
The Upper St. Clair, Pa., native skated with the South Shore Kings of the United States Premiere Hockey League in 2014-15. A staple in the lineup, Shero played in 31 games and had a large role in the squad's playoff push with a pair of timely assists.
Prior to his season with South Shore, Shero registered five goals and seven assists in 34 games played at Kimball Union Academy in 2013-14. The 5-foot-10 forward played alongside Dudek and KUA that season.
Shero's father, Ray, has been a staple in the National Hockey League front offices from the early 1990s until his most recent hire: general manager of the New Jersey Devils. Shero's father was previously the GM of the Pittsburgh Penguins and helped the organization win its third Stanley Cup in 2009.
