Carpenter Earns New England Player of the Year

Chestnut Hill, Mass. -- Boston College women's hockey junior forward Alex Carpenter has been named New England DI Player of the Year while head coach Katie King Crowley has been named New England DI Coach of the Year.
Carpenter earns the distinction for the second time in her career after registering a program-record 81 points on 37 goals and 44 assists this season. She was also named New England DI Player of the Year as a sophomore in 2013. The North Reading, Mass. native finished the season ranked first in the nation with 2.19 points per game, 1.00 goals per game, 1.19 assists per game, and nine game-winning goals.
Carpenter made history this season as the first Boston College Eagle to collect the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award. The junior forward also garnered Hockey East Warrior Player of the Year and First Team All-America honors.
Crowley earns New England DI Coach of the Year after leading the Eagles to their best ever record (34-3-2) and their fourth Frozen Four appearance in the last five years.
The Salem, New Hampshire native collected Hockey East Coach of the Year for the third straight season while leading the Eagles to their second consecutive Hockey East regular season title. Crowley also earned American Hockey Coaches Association Coach of the Year honors. Under Crowley's tutelage, Boston College earned its first ever #1 ranking, a spot it held until the NCAA tournament, and finished the season with a school best #4 ranking.
Four Eagles, including Carpenter, also earned All-New England All Star honors. Joining Carpenter are freshman defenseman Megan Keller, senior defenseman Emily Pfalzer, and junior forward Haley Skarupa.
Keller notched four goals and 20 assists for 24 points in her first season as an Eagle. The freshman defenseman also earned Hockey East All-Rookie and First Team All-Star honors.
Pfalzer earns New England All-Star accolades for the second time in her career, also collecting the honor as a sophomore in 2013. The senior captain was named a Top-10 Finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award and First Team All-America selection this season while earning Hockey East Best Defenseman for the second year in a row. Pfalzer tallied 42 points on eight goals and 34 assists through 36 games.
Skarupa earns her first All-New England All-Star distinction after finishing the 2014-15 season second on the Eagles with 71 points on 31 goals, including eight game-winners, and 40 assists. She led the team with a plus-62 rating on the season and  221 shots on goal while finishing the season second in the nation averaging 1.92 points per game.
Carpenter, Crowley, Keller, Pfalzer, and Skarupa will receive their awards at a banquet on Tuesday, April 21.
