April 23, 2015 | Lacrosse
Charlottesville, Va. -- Junior midfielder Sarah Mannelly, senior midfielder Mikaela Rix, and senior attacker Covie Stanwick have been named to the 25-player 2015 Tewaaraton Award nominee list. The Tewaaraton Award is bestowed annually upon the top female and male college lacrosse player in the United States.
The three captains also earned First Team All-ACC honors earlier this week.
Rix has tallied 47 points on 40 goals and seven assists, despite being sidelined by injury for three games. The senior captain has dominated the draw this season, recording a team-high 48 draw controls and setting a new program record of 219 career draw controls.
Stanwick leads the Eagles in every offensive category. The senior attacker has registered 65 points on 42 goals and 23 assists. Stanwick's 65 points (4.12 points per game) rank second in the ACC and 13th nationally.
Mannelly has commanded the midfield this year with a team-leading 27 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers. Her 58 points on 41 goals and 17 assists are second on the Eagle squad.
