Charlottesville, Va. -- Four Boston College lacrosse players have earned 2015 All-ACC honors for their play this season. Junior midfielder Sarah Mannelly, senior midfielder Mikaela Rix, and senior attacker Covie Stanwick have been named First Team All-ACC while junior midfielder Caroline Margolis garners Second Team All-ACC accolades.
BC's four representatives are the most All-ACC members from Boston College in program history. The Eagles also have the most First Team representatives of any ACC institution.
Rix, a four-time All-ACC selection, has tallied 47 points on 40 goals and seven assists, despite being sidelined by injuries for three games. The senior captain has dominated the draw this season, recording a team-high 48 draw controls and setting a new program record of 219 career draw controls.
Stanwick, also a four-time All-ACC honoree, leads the Eagles in every offensive category. The senior attacker has registered 65 points on 42 goals and 23 assists. Stanwick's 65 points (4.12 points per game) rank second in the ACC and 13th nationally.
Mannelly makes her second All-ACC appearance with her selection this season. Last year, the New Canaan, Connecticut native earned Second Team All-ACC honors. Mannelly has dominated the midfield with a team-leading 27 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers. Her 58 points on 41 goals and 17 assists are second on the Eagle squad.
Margolis garners All-ACC accolades for the first time in her career. Her 55 points are third on the team while her 22 assists rank sixth overall in the conference.
The Eagles kick off the 2015 ACC Championships, held at the University of Virginia, tomorrow at 6 p.m. against #6 seed Syracuse.
