April 21, 2015 | Women's Golf
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Sophomore Mike King (baseball) and senior Cristina McQuiston (women's golf) have been named Eagles of the Week for their performances last week.
King threw a complete-game, one-hit shutout in the Eagles' 1-0 victory over No. 24 Georgia Tech on Friday. He struck out a career-high eight batters in his first nine-inning performance. He did not walk a batter and the only hit he surrendered was in the first inning. King retired the final 17 batters he faced. He faced the minimum number of batters (27) and a runner did not advance past second base.
McQuiston finished eighth overall at the 2015 ACC Championship last weekend. It was the highest finish by a BC golfer since joining the conference. She shot a season-low 68 in the opening round and then shot a 70 in the final round on Saturday. McQuiston finished -2 for the three rounds (68, 76, 70), with a team-high 13 birdies which was fifth overall in the tournament.
Baseball (21-18, 9-11 ACC) faces UMass in the Beanpot title game on Wednesday before traveling to North Carolina this weekend for a three-game series. The women's golf team's season is now complete.
