Chestnut Hill, Mass.- Boston College faced off against Wake Forest on Sunday afternoon for a season finale ACC matchup. The Eagles would fall, 7-0.
"We played well today in losing to the #12 ranked Demon Deacons," said head coach Scott Wilkins. "Kyle played a strong first set while Matt lost in a competitive third set supertiebreaker. Hank hung in there with Ho who has given us fits for for years.  Phil and Matt were up 5-3 at #2 doubles and were forced to stop when Wake clinched the overall doubles point."
After Wake Forest earned the doubles point, they would follow up with six wins in the singles competition.
Matt Wagner put up a fight against Sam Bloom in the No. 6 spot, losing a close one: 3-6, 6-4, 4-10.
Head coach Scott Wilkins expressed how fortunate he was to have seniors Philip Nelson and Matt Wagner on the team.
"Matt Wagner has been a leader from day one and is one of the most solid doubles players this program has had, consistently winning matches with whoever I pair him with.  He continues to get better every week and that is a testament to his hard work and determination which sets such a great example for the younger players."
Boston College will close out their season with an 8-17 record.
