Final ACC Results
The Boston College women's golf team traveled to Greensboro, North Carolina to compete in the 2015 ACC Championship at the 6,089-yard, par 72 championship course at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro.
Due to pending inclement weather, the ACC Tournament was shortened to two days - Friday and Saturday. The team played 27 holes on Friday and finished up with 27 holes on Saturday.
The Eagles placed last in the tournament at +50, with two seniors playing their final ACC round and three rookies playing the challenging Sedgefield course for the first time.
Senior Cristina McQuiston, a native of Rome, Italy, finished the tournament in eight place, a career and program high. McQuiston shot a 68 in the first 18, followed by a +4 in the final nine holes on Friday.
On Saturday, McQuiston shot even par with two birdies. In the final 18 holes, McQuiston shot a two under on the front nine with a birdie on one and five. In the back nine, McQuiston opened with a birdie on 10, followed by a par on 11 and a birdie on 12. At that point she was at -4 for the round. On the par 4, 15th hole, McQuiston lost two shots but made one up with a birdie on 15. She finished the round even for a 70.
The team had 27 birdies, McQuiston had 13. The Eagles were also fifth among the conference teams' on the par three's.
BC's other senior Katia Joo had a tough go as she opened the tournament with an 81 on Friday but bounced back with a 78 and a 73 in the final round. She placed tied in 47th.
The three freshmen had highlights through the three rounds. Katie Barrand had two birdies on 12 and 13 in the first nine holes Saturday morning. She shot a low round of 77.
Katelyn Reynolds shot a 76 on Friday and again in the second round. She had three birdies, including two consecutive Saturday morning on the 11th and 12th holes. Jocelyn Chia had a 76 in her second 18. She had four birdies in the tournament.
