CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College junior Cai Thomas' film on former women's ice hockey player Blake Bolden will be featured on NESN Next Producer on Monday, April 20. The movie will be aired at 3 p.m. or immediately following NESN's postgame coverage of the Boston Red Sox.
NESN Next Producer is an innovative new series that showcases New England college filmmakers, their vision and their stories. Part Shark Tank, part America's Got Talent, students created short sports films with the hope of winning $20,000 and a job opportunity at NESN.
The weekly series, hosted by NESN's Gary Striewski, will showcase two films in each episode, give back stories about the students and include reviews by Boston Globe film critic Ty Burr. The student- produced shorts will be posted at NESNnext.com where viewers can pick the program's "Top Fan Film."
Bolden graduated from Boston College in 2013 after playing four seasons with the women's ice hockey team. She ranks second all-time for BC defensemen in goals (26), and third in assists (56) and points (82). Bolden was the Hockey East Defenseman of the Year and a second team All-American as a senior. She was also a First Team Hockey East All-Star twice.
