4x800 Sets BC Record at ECAC Championships

Boston, MA--Boston College women's track and field travelled to their final indoor meet of the season at Boston University for the ECAC Championships. The team saw numerous top finishes and personal records as well as a new school record set.
Sophomore Robin Gross continued her breakout season with another top finish in the 500 meters. Gross finished seventh in the preliminaries, qualifying for the finals as well as setting a new personal record with a time of 1:13.75. In the finals, Gross finished fourth overall in the event.
Boston College once again dominated the 3000 meters. Junior Laura Hottenrott finished second with a time of 9:30.53, trailing only Laura Mullins of Providence. Junior Danielle Winslow took fifth place with a time of 9:32.32. The Eagles rounded out the top-10 with a tenth place finish by senior Madeleine Davidson, who finished with a time of 9:36.56.
Boston College's 4x800 relay team finished fourth in the events preliminaries. Their time, 8:49.67, set a new Boston College record. The previous fastest time for the squad, Shannon Ahern, Katherine O'Keefe, Camila Isern, and Claudia DiSomma, was set at the Tufts Stampede and Multi Invitational at the end of January. The group went on to finish sixth in the 4x800 finals.
Liv Westphal will travel to the NCAA Indoor Championships, which begin on March 13th. The rest of the team will begin their outdoor schedule at the Raleigh Relays beginning on March 27th.
