#1 Eagles Face UConn in WHEA Semifinal Saturday

Hyannis, Mass. - No. 1 Boston College women's hockey is set to take on No. 5 seed Connecticut in the Hockey East Semifinal on Saturday, March 7 at 1:30 p.m. at the Hyannis Youth & Community Center.

HOCKEY EAST DOMINANCE
- The Eagles went undefeated in Hockey East play this season at 20-0-1
- The last time a team went unbeaten in WHEA play was in 2007-08 when UNH also earned a 20-0-1 mark.
- BC's one tie came against #7 Boston University at Walter Brown Arena on Feb. 21, when the Eagles andthe Terriers played to a 2-2 overtime tie.
EAGLES IN THE WHEA TOURNAMENT
- BC entered the Hockey East Tournament as the #1 seed for the second straight year.
- Boston College is making its ninth trip to the Hockey East semifinal on March 7 to face UConn.
- Since its inception in 2003, Boston College is 9-8 all-time in the Hockey East Tournament.
- BC's first and only Hockey East Tournament Championship came in 2011, when the second-seeded
- Eagles downed #5 Northeastern, 3-1.
- BC is 4-1 in quarterfinal play, 4-4 in semifinal play, and 1-3 in the Championship game.
- Last year, the Eagles downed UNH in the quarterfinal, 8-1, and beat Vermont, 3-1, in the semifinal to
- advance to their fourth Championship game.
- #1 BC fell to #2 Boston University, 3-2, to take second place in the 2014 tournament.
CLASHING WITH CONNECTICUT
- The Eagles are 3-0 against the Huskies this season, outscoring UConn 18-1 in total.
- Overall, BC is 21-13-7 in the all-time series vs. Connecticut.
- Boston College and Connecticut have never met in the Hockey East Tournament.
THE LAST MEETING
- The Eagles earned their 25th consecutive win in a 6-0 shutout of UConn on Feb. 6 at Kelley Rink.
- Freshman goaltender Katie Burt pitched her seventh shutout of the season vs. the Huskies.
- The Eagles had a breakout second period, scoring four goals (Emily Field, Tori Sullivan, Andie Anastos, Emily Pfalzer) to solidify the victory.
ON THE HORIZON
- Boston College is two goals shy of tying the record for most goals scored in the Hockey East Tournament (16 - Boston University 2012).
- No. 2 seed Boston University and No. 3 seed Northeastern will face off in the later semifinal on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
