Five Eagles Earn 2014-15 Hockey East Honors

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Five Boston College women's hockey players received honors from the Hockey East for their performances this season, as announced by the league Wednesday afternoon.
Goaltender Katie Burt, defenseman Megan Keller, and forward Tori Sullivan have been named to the Hockey East Pro Ambitions All-Rookie Team. BC has the most representatives on the All-Rookie Team, followed by BU (2), Northeastern (1), and UConn (1).Burt was also tabbed Hockey East Goaltending Champion.
Burt, a native of Lynn, Mass., leads the nation with a 1.02 goals against average overall. She owns a league-best 0.61 GAA in Hockey East play. The freshman goaltender has recorded 10 shutouts this season, tying the most in a single-season at Boston College. Eight of her 10 shutouts have come against Hockey East opponents. Burt posts a .945 save percentage, good for fourth in the country and first in the league. The Lynn product has won Hockey East Goaltender of the Month in December and January while also collecting Rookie of the Month in December. Burt also won five total weekly awards from the league.
Keller has stood out as a Boston College blueliner in her rookie season, amassing 24 points on four goals and 20 assists through 33 games. She has registered a plus-36 rating on the year and helps lead the third-ranked defense in the country. Keller has been an integral part of a BC defensive unit that has allowed just 39 goals this season.
Sullivan, a West Bloomfield, Mich., native, has 28 points on 11 goals and 17 assists this season. She ranks 11th nationally among all rookies with 0.80 points per game. The freshman forward comes in at fifth among all Hockey East rookies in scoring and holds a plus-37 rating on the season.
Senior defenseman Emily Pfalzer has been named Hockey East Best Defenseman. Pfalzer has anchored one of the nation's best defenses, which has allowed just 1.11 goals per game. The Getzville, N.Y. native is third on the 2014-15 Eagle squad with 41 points on eight goals and 33 assists. Pfalzer is the nation's leading scorer as a defenseman with 1.28 points per game from 38 points (8 goals, 33 assists). Her scoring prowess isn't limited to greatness among defensemen: Pfalzer is ranked 12th nationally overall in points per game. She is the only defensemen among the top 50 players nationally in points per game
Her 101 career points and 76 career assists are the most among all defensemen in Boston College history, and she is the first blueliner to reach the 100-point plateau. Pfalzer also owns a career high plus-59 rating ans set a career high with six points (1-5-6) vs. Syracuse on October 4. The senior captain has earned Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week honors twice this season (November 24 and January 12). Pfalzer also won the Hockey East Best Defenseman award last year.
Junior forward Alex Carpenter has earned the Squad Locker Scoring Champion award for her scoring prowess in league play. Carpenter has scored 41 (20g, 21a) of her 75 points in Hockey East matchups. The North Reading, Mass. product also received the Army ROTC Three Stars Award, given to the player who earns the most First, Second, and Third Star selections over the course of the season.
