Women's Tennis Drops VA Tech, 5-2

Chestnut Hill, Mass.- Boston College defeated conference opponent Virginia Tech, 5-2, on Friday afternoon.
The Eagles improve to 9-7 on the season, 3-3 in ACC play.
Jessica Wacnik and Lexi Borr improved to 12-2 on the season in doubles play, taking down their opponents, 8-4.
Emily Safron and Katya Vasilyev gave the Eagles the 1-0 advantage with an 8-4 victory over Sansitha Nandakumar and Elena Cerezo-Codina.
In singles play, Asiya Dair continued her dominance in the No. 3 spot, improving to 10-2 on the season (6-0 ACC).
Strong play from Vasilyev, Safron, and Heini Salonen propelled Boston College to victory. Head coach Nigel Bentley was impressed by his team's effort tonight.
"Tonight was a total team win," he said. "Everyone's been working so hard; they deserved this win."
Boston College will return Friday, March 27 when they host the Florida State Seminoles.
