BC TRAVELS TO VIRGINIA TECH
• Boston College faces its final road test of the season when it takes on Virginia Tech in Blacksburg on Monday night at 9 p.m.
• The game will be televised on ESPNU with Bob Picozzi and Malcolm Huckaby on the call.
• Boston College has won three straight in the series and won both contests between the teams last year.
• The Eagles snapped a nine-game losing streak when they beat NC State at home on Saturday, 79-63.
• Virginia Tech is also 2-14 in the conference and has lost its last five games, including a 69-57 loss at #2/3 Virginia on Saturday.
EAGLES END LOSING STREAK WITH WIN OVER NC STATE
• Junior Olivier Hanlan recorded 24 points, eight rebounds and three assists as Boston College defeated NC State, 79-63, on Saturday at Conte Forum.
• He was 7-for-11 from the floor, 3-for-4 from beyond the arc and 7-for-8 from the foul line.
• Senior Patrick Heckmann finished with 14 points, seven assists and four rebounds.
• Graduate student Dimitri Batten had 11 points and a season-high eight rebounds.
• Graduate student Aaron Brown scored 13 points and junior Dennis Clifford had 10 points and five boards.
• Boston College started the game on an 11-2 in the first 3:06. Batten hit a pair of 3-pointers in that stretch.
• NC State responded by scoring the next seven points to pull within two.
• BC went on another run, this time a 10-2 one, to build a 21-11 lead with 9:39 left in the half.
• The Eagles then closed out the half by scoring eight of the final 10 points to take a 43-26 halftime lead. Brown had five of the points, including an and-one conversion as time expired.
• BC scored the first six points out of the locker room to extend its lead to 49-26, but the Wolfpack responded with seven straight of their own to make it 49-33.
• The Eagles' led by double digits the rest of the way.
LAST TIME vs. VIRGINIA TECH
• Joe Rahon recorded 20 points, six assists and five rebounds as BC beat Virginia Tech, 76-52, on January 29, 2014 at Conte Forum.
• Ryan Anderson had 18 points, eight rebounds and five blocks. He was 6-for-8 from the floor.
• Patrick Heckmann scored 14 points off the bench and Olivier Hanlan added 11.
• Boston College started the game on a 16-7 run in which both Heckmann and Rahon hit a pair of 3-pointers.
• The Eagles expanded its lead to 38-23 at the 4:05 mark thanks to a 12-4 run over 4:41. Lonnie Jackson capped the run with a 3-pointer.
• BC took a 46-33 lead into the half.
• The Eagles scored the first eight points of the second half to build their lead to 54-33. Hanlan hit consecutive 3-pointers to cap the run.
• The BC lead was never less than 20 points the rest of the way and reached 30 points, 76-46, with 6:39 left in the game.
