March 17, 2015 | Lacrosse
Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Women's lacrosse attacker Covie Stanwick has been named ACC Offensive Player of the Week for her stellar performance in last week's wins vs. No. 12 Louisville and UConn.
Stanwick led the Boston College offense with seven points on six goals and one assist in the Eagles' 16-15 overtime victory over the Cardinals on March 11. The Baltimore, Md. native tallied the game-winning goal with just six seconds left in the extra period.
Stanwick also prevailed as BC's new all-time leading goal-scorer with her fourth goal against the Cards, surpassing Kristin Igoe's previous record of 168 career goals.
The senior attacker followed with a three-point performance on March 14 in BC's 13-5 win against UConn. Stanwick notched two goals and an assist while registering three ground balls and two caused turnovers to help the Eagles to victory.
This is Stanwick's second ACC Offensive Player of the Week nod this season.
Stanwick and the Eagles (8-0, 3-0 ACC) are back in action this weekend to face No. 2 North Carolina on Saturday, March 21 at 7 p.m. on ESPN3.
