Burt, Carpenter Pick Up Hockey East Honors

Chestnut Hill, Mass.- Boston College women's hockey junior forward Alex Carpenter and freshman goaltender Katie Burt picked up Hockey East honors for their play in the Eagles' 5-1 victory over Clarkson in the NCAA Quarterfinal on Saturday, March 14. Carpenter's and Burt's play propelled Boston College to their fifth Frozen Four appearance. Carpenter earned Player of the Week while Burt was tabbed Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week.
Carpentertallied three points in BC's NCAA Quarterfinal win, scoring her 36th and 37th goals while adding her 44th assist. The junior forwardextended her point streak to nine games. She continues to lead the nation with 81 points and nine game-winning goals.
This is the North Reading, Mass. native's fourth weekly honor from the league.
Burt earned Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week after recording 20 saves and allowing just one goalon Saturday. The freshman goaltender tops the country witha 1.08 goals against average while her .942 save percentage is good for fifth in the nation.
These are Burt's sixth and seventh weekly honors from the Hockey East.
Burt, Carpenter and the Eagles are back in action this Friday, March 20 when they face off against #3 seed Harvard in the Frozen Four at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
