BC HIGHLIGHTS
• Freshman Katie Quandt had eight points but sealed the win with two foul shots with 2.5 left to play. Sophomore Kelly Hughes finished with 17 points and four rebounds and junior Nicole Boudreau had eight points, five rebounds and four assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Eagles were slow to start the game and Virginia Tech took advantage with a 6-2 run in the first six minutes. BC did not hit double figures until the 10 minute mark when Ashley Kelsick hit a driving layup.
• BC shot just 33 percent from the floor and went 0-9 from the three-point arc, while Virginia Tech shot 38.5 percent.
• BC opened the game on a 7-2 run to cut into the lead as Nicole Boudreau opened the half with a three-pointer. The run continued as Kelly Hughes went on her own 8-0 and tied the game at 31-31 on a long three from the top of the key.
• Virginia Tech shot back with three straight three's off four BC turnovers - BC 31, VT 40.
• Hughes hit another three at 11:18 and BC was down just six points.
• The Eagles cut it to three points with 7:06 to play on a layup by Katie Quandt.
• Taijah Campbell hit two inside shots in a row and the Eagles were down, 47-40, with 3:30 to play.
• A Kelsick steal led to a jumper by Hughes, who tied the game at 47-47, with 1:31 to play.
• Quandt grabbed the missed layup by Boudreau and was fouled on her attempt. Quandt stepped to the foul line with 2.5 top lay and calmly hit two freebies to seal the win.

• Boston College went 0-for-9 in the first half from the arc. The team recovered in the second half shooting 5-for-12 from long range.
• BC scored 23 points off turnovers, while Virginia Tech had only eight.
• The Eagles also won the battle in the paint - 24-16.
• Virginia Tech won the battle of the boards, 34-29.
• Junior Kelly Hughes tied the game twice for the Eagles - once on a long three pointer at 14:35 - BC 31, VTech 31. The second one came on a mid-range jumper with 1:41 to play - 47-47.
• In the final 3:52, BC's defense forced four Hokie turnovers and held them to one shot, which did not fall. Meanwhile, in that span, BC scored nine points and key plays by Ashley Kelsick (two steals) and two big rebounds (Hughes which led to a Boudreau three) & Quandts (which led to the final two free throws).
