
DMR Finishes Fourth at ACC's

Blacksburg, VA--Boston College Women's Track and Field travelled to Virginia Tech this weekend to compete in the ACC Indoor Championships. The weekend was filled with personal bests and exciting finishes for the Eagles.
The highlight of the weekend came in the DMR. The Eagles DMR Team, consisting of Katherine O'Keefe, Carly Daniel, Claudia DiSomma, and Liv Westphal, posted a time of 11:22.39, earning them fourth place. This time also earned the Eagles a spot in the IC4A Championships.
The Eagles' also flexed their muscles in the 5000 meters, where they saw two runners finish in the top ten. Junior Laura Hottenrott finished fifth, 16:18.31, and set a new personal record by forty-five seconds.
Junior Danielle Winslow finished ninth in the 5000 meters with a time of 16:35.38. This time qualifies her for both the NEICAAA and the IC4A Championships later this month.
The Eagles' received a strong performance from senior Madeleine Davidson, who finished ninth overall in the mile with a time of 4:54.93.
Senior Liv Westphal entered the weekend as the top qualifier in the 3000 meters. She led for most of the first half of the race but, unfortunately, was not able to hold the lead, finishing fifth with a time of 9:18.08. This time qualified her for both the NEICAAA and IC4A Championships.
The Eagles' 4x400 team, comprising Carly Daniel, Robin Gross, Johanna Celli, and Claudia DiSomma, finished tenth overall with a time of 3:48.62. This time was the third fastest indoor relay time in Boston College history.
The Eagles' finished 13th overall and look forward to the ECAC (IC4A) Championships coming up next weekend at Boston University.
