February 09, 2015 | Women's Hockey
Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Boston College freshman goaltender Katie Burt has been named Hockey East Rookie of the Week. This is Burt’s fourth weekly honor from the league.
The Lynn, Mass. native shined in the Eagles’ two wins last week, stopping 36 pucks and allowing just one goal.
Burt helped the first-ranked Eagles advance to their 15th Beanpot Championship game, holding Northeastern to one goal in BC’s 3-1 victory over the Huskies on Feb. 3.
The freshman netminder followed by registering her seventh shutout of the season in BC’s 6-0 win vs. UConn on Feb. 6. Burt’s seven shutouts are good for second overall on Boston College’s single-season list.
Burt’s 0.99 goals against average ranks first in the country and her .947 save percentage comes in at third nationally.
The Eagles are back in action Tuesday, Feb. 3 in the Beanpot Championship game vs. #4 Harvard at 7:30 p.m.
