Rix, Stanwick Named to Tewaaraton Award Watch List

Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Boston College women’s lacrosse senior midfielder Mikaela Rix and senior attacker Covie Stanwick have been named to the Tewaaraton Award watch list, as announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation Friday morning.
The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the most outstanding men’s and women’s NCAA DI lacrosse players and legends of the game.
This is the third consecutive year that Rix and Stanwick have been named to the Tewaaraton Award watch list.
Stanwick, a Baltimore, Md. native, leads Boston College with 11 points on eight goals and three assists through the first three games of the season.
Rix, who hails from Garden City, N.Y., is second on the team with 10 points on seven goals and three assists. She leads the Eagles with nine ground balls and eight draw controls.
The 2015 Tewaaraton Award watch list will be narrowed to 25 players on Apr. 23. Five finalists will be announced on May 7.
The winner will receive the award at The Tewaaraton Award Ceremony, held in Washington, D.C. at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian.
