#6/7 Lacrosse Takes on the Orange Saturday

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - No. 7/6 Boston College takes on No. 3/2 Syracuse to kick off ACC play this Saturday, Feb. 28 at 12 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.

Team Records
The No. 7/6 Boston College Eagles are 3-0 on the season heading into Saturday's matchup against the Orange. The Eagles are coming off a 13-10 victory over the UVM Catamounts (Feb. 21). The Eagles also defeated UMass-Lowell, 24-4 (Feb. 17) as well as No. 18/17 Johns Hopkins, 9-5, in their season opener (Feb. 14). All three Boston College victories have come on the road.
No. 3/2 Syracuse is 5-0 coming off of a close 12-11 victory over UConn. The Orange also defeated No. 8/9 Virginia, 14-13, in their first ACC matchup of the season (Feb. 23). Additionally, `Cuse has overcome Canisius College twice, by scores of 19-7 (Feb. 15), and 21-13 (Feb. 7). The Orange conquered Denver University, 18-10, in their season opener (Feb. 7). Syracuse has yet to play on the road.
Team Leaders
Senior attacker Covie Stanwick leads the Eagles with 11 points on a team-high eight goals and three assists. Senior midfielder Mikaela Rix is second on the team with 10 points on seven goals and three assists. Junior midfielder Caroline Margolis also has seven goals.
Junior attacker Kayla Treanor leads the Orange with 25 points on 21 goals and four assists. Junior attacker Halle Majorana is second on the team with 24 points on 12 goals and 12 assists.
History vs. the Orange
Boston College has yet to defeat the Syracuse in 13 meetings between the schools. The Eagles are 0-7 at home and 0-6 on the road against the Orange. Last season, the Orange defeated the Eagles twice, including an 11-9 loss at the Carrier Dome in the NCAA quarterfinals to end the Eagles' season.
In that NCAA quarterfinal game, the Eagles took a quick 3-0 lead in the first ten minutes of the game, only to be matched by the Orange's own three-goal run to even the score. Syracuse headed into halftime with a 6-4 lead over Boston College. The Eagles trailed by one goal (10-9) with a minute remaining, but SU scored again with 40 seconds left on the clock to take the game, 11-9.
This is the third meeting between Boston College and Syracuse since the Orange joined the Atlantic Coast Conference on July 1, 2013.
