February 23, 2015 | Women's Hockey
Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Freshman goaltender Katie Burt has been named Hockey East Rookie of the Week for her performance in the Eagles' series against #6 Boston University last weekend.
Burt recorded her ninth shutout of the season vs. BU on Thursday, Feb. 19. She stopped 28 shots from the Terriers--the second-most shots she had faced all season--earning her the second star of the game.
Burt also came up with crucial saves in Feb. 21's overtime draw vs. BU to salvage a point for Boston College. The Lynn, Mass. native now owns a nation-best 1.02 goals against average and a staggering 0.61 GAA in league play.
This is Burt's fifth weekly accolade from the Hockey East.
Burt and the Eagles are back in action to host Providence in the Hockey Easy Quarterfinals on Friday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m.
